DENM
DENM is a Southern California–based musician, songwriter, and producer known for fusing raw coastal energy with unflinching, autobiographical storytelling. Since emerging with his 2021 debut album Slum Beach Denny—which earned prominent playlist support including the cover of Spotify’s Beach Vibes—DENM has steadily built a catalog that balances melodic escape with lived-in grit. The album has since surpassed 25 million streams, marking his arrival as a defining voice in the modern SoCal reggae-rock and alternative scene.
His sophomore studio album, Hot N Glassy (Controlled Substance Sound Labs / Slum Beach Records) , represents a creative and personal evolution. Written and produced by DENM, the album explores addiction, mental health, growth, and fatherhood through a lens of duality—euphoria and consequence, recklessness and clarity, fire and water. Standout tracks include “Be Mine,” “I’ll Be Gone” featuring Slightly Stoopid, and “Where I’m Goin” featuring Pepper, all of which landed major Apple Music and Spotify playlist placements. The project also features collaborators including B-Real of Cypress Hill, Benny Ranks, and Jesse James Pariah, and closes with “Swimming Lessons,” a stark, gospel-tinged track that delivers one of the most powerful vocal performances of DENM’s career.
In addition to his solo releases, DENM is a highly sought-after producer and collaborator. His credits include producing SOJA’s Grammy Award–winning Beauty in the Silence (Best Reggae Album), co-writing and producing HIRIE’s chart-topping single “Respect,” and collaborating on “Rage” with Dirty Heads, Travis Barker, and The Interrupters. He has also worked with Big Freedia, Travis Barker, Pepper, Slightly Stoopid, and Jesse James Pariah, among others—moving fluidly between reggae, hip-hop, rock, and alternative spaces.
DENM’s music has also found a strong foothold in film and television, with notable sync placements across Netflix’s Outer Banks and All American, FOX’s Rescue: HI-Surf, and Prime Video’s Surf Girls Hawai’i. His collaborative EP Slum Beach Posse Vol. 1 (2023) further highlighted his community-driven approach, featuring Slightly Stoopid, Landon McNamara, Jesse James Pariah, and Benny Ranks, and spawning the fan-favorite single “Wild Trip,” recorded during extended surf and studio sessions on Oahu’s North Shore.
Raised as a self-described troubled teen bouncing between Southern California beach towns, DENM taught himself guitar at 14 while moving through San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Isla Vista—experiences that continue to shape the honesty and edge in his songwriting. Whether recording in Hawaii, downtown Los Angeles, or late-night studio sessions along the California coast, his music consistently reflects the highs and lows of real life, confronting trauma, addiction, love, and self-reckoning without polish or pretense.
Following the release of Hot N Glassy, DENM has continued to expand his live footprint, headlining tours and performing at major venues and festivals including Red Rocks, Reggae Rise Up, and Cali Vibes Fest. Known for cathartic, high-intensity performances that balance grit and vulnerability, DENM remains a compelling and evolving force in modern reggae-rock and coastal alternative music.
